This is the second part in the series of The Excellent Mile! Do continue reading this post and subscribe to receive the latest.
Previously on the first part of this series of The Excellence Mile, we mentioned about how we are to set foot on the right track, and about the 6 people who you will meet on the race track.
Now let’s head on back to the track and go on to run and finish this race in The Excellence Mile right here on Winning Everyone!
Let’s look at the word “mile” in a fresh perspective. Find out on how all the four components of it that starts with the first letter from the above word can lead you into the realm of excellence in the marketplace in this contemporary times.
Mandatory moving in faith
By our own human nature, we will have this constant yearning to be in relationship with people, having a close group of friends, meeting new faces and getting acquainted with them be it for fellowship, social gathering, for business partnerships, and to build each other up.
One of the ideas that I have came up with in the start of this year is to connect with people not only in their minds, but go deeper into their heart where communication transcends the thoughts they have learned before, where the ideas and words formed surpasses their own understanding and feelings.
Let’s redefine that entire paragraph into this word we call Faith.
It is through moving in this faith that we can connect with God and also to the people around us.
How about if we make it mandatory for us to move in according to how strong of a faith we have in us? I can see that that it gives us the ability to create new stuffs and topics to talk and share about, bringing many more new ideas that bridges people to solutions to overcome obstacles and problems that are facing them.
Subscribing to this definition with the mandatory move of faith goes beyond the things that you see around you!
Like how that story above with the 6 lanes where you are competing in against the 5 other runners with had described, you had seen the rest but when you looked right forward in your lane, you realized that you will have to move forward with your heart connected to the finishing line whilst overcoming all the traits you know and found that are manifested in the rest.
That is moving in faith.
For we walk by faith, not by sight. - 2 Corinthians 5:7, New King James Version
Integrated thoughts and ideas
Take a look outside at your nearest book shop in the neighborhood or town center. Walk into any library, or go do a random search over on the Internet.
There are thousands of titles available at any physical store, or millions of articles over on the web!
By wanting to relate and connect with the intellectual people that creates and write strong messages, with the Law of Attraction being in place, we would definitely get to be in the same league and have a direct acquaintance that brings us closer and eventually connecting us to the same people we wanted to be associated with even faster than what we might think of before!
Can we ever go beyond our wildest dreams and have the Audacity of Hope where peace is possible, and where we can come out from the rut and get on onto being prosperous in our mind, soul, and in the physical surroundings around us?
The 4 Hour Work Week is something achievable while on the other hand, being in a season where you are required to put in lots of hard work and long hours, yet get to come to a point where you can say that When Crazy Isn’t Crazy Anymore, enjoying a balanced life while going through a 16, 18, or 20 hours work day.
You can also adopt the 7 Habits that will make you a highly effective person, or Up Your Service to provide top class services in your workplace. We can get to thinking effectively like how the world’s greatest leaders think with this notion of Integrated Thinking.
That you would also know that it is a good thing for an uneducated man to read books of quotations. While it takes a lot of time to be a genius, you have to sit around so much doing nothing, really doing nothing.
While it is already done so in the new testament, that the church should be engaging the marketplace, in the 7 social pillars such as family, religion, governments, education, businesses, arts, and media, that is the Cultural Mandate.
Here’s one last one, where Winning Everyone is possible, igniting our passions in building people up, encouraging one another, drawing closer to the people we are involved with and influence in our lives. Subscribing to us and play a titular part in this movement from today!
Those paragraphs you see above are thoughts and ideas that were generated and found in various aspects such as in articles, book titles, quotations, series, and of course in the knowledge of excellence we have. Go ahead, make a guess where the sources for those words and phrases in italics came from.
In all that, we are able to learn, and have the wisdom and understanding to digest them, and storing them in our minds and hearts such that when situation comes, we don’t exactly have to rely on only one form of idea to solve it.
We can pull one solution out from the hat and use them with greater effectiveness and diligence through our ability to integrate thoughts and ideas, with the integrity of the messages left intact, and putting them into powerful use in our daily course of life.
Love
Love is an important factor in our journey in life. Not only we connect with our faith (as mentioned in the section that represents “M” in MILE), we too connect with and because of the love we have in us.
When we love, we do it not out of pressure or not because someone else told you that you need to love, but the love that comes through us is never superficial, it is one that is built up through constant exposure to people who is filled with love, understanding, wisdom, and full of faith.
The exposure we have to people around us does build us up according to one another’s strengths while battling against our weaknesses.
Love too is a passion that we have inside everyone of us. Our passion consists of things that we are already in tuned with, and consistently perform with excellence without much prompting and nudging from one another.
We are to find out the things that we are already good at, the talents we have, the inner desire to do one thing that we have wanted to try doing that we know will impact the people around us, and do it with full passion, igniting them and re-fuel them constantly to bring forth our positive and consistent performance that is built to multiply and bring in huge results!
Maybe, we aren’t yet sure of what we are good in, but know that in us is a potential seed for something great, be it in photography, writing, designing, storytelling, communicating, leading, and many more we can choose from. Play out the ones that we think we are good in, and be confident in a couple of areas, and grow the new found talent, skill, and abilities that we can have have our passion focused on.
The love with our passion in us can bring consistence in our mandatory moving out in faith, while bringing the things we hope for and desire into fruitfulness.
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. - 1 Corinthians 13:13, New King James Version
Extra personal touch
This is the part where we add value by being who we are ourselves.
We can consider it as creating a personal brand where people can relate a certain form of service to you because of the way you do things, the process that goes through into performing the duty with excellence and how you are able to look into every single detail and find a need to meet it in the way that only you are able to do.
Here is when you one-up yourself by adding something personal into your line of work.
It could be in the way you greet people, in the way you sign off on documents with your signature, or you have a style of getting things done in a manner that is different from the rest of your group, or it could also be your ability to engage in a huge crowd without much worries or whether you are at best in building people in a small group or mentoring an individual.
Now too, is when we get connected to one another at a whole new level as we know and like the style of the person with your extra personal touch you bring into the work you do, above the level of excellence that you bring into your life journey, and the how you are going to be represented in as you finish the race.
Like in a real race, we associate with a particular personality because of how we are able to see ourselves in the individual and have heard and been inspired by the person’s story on how he or she had overcame the weaknesses and obstacles they had once faced before they became who they are today.
We are all created as unique individuals, therefore we are allowed to have the assurance to be comfortable with ourselves while performing to our excellence in a cool new way only we are able to do.
Let’s head back to the race. You are coming close to the finish line!
You are still focused on the end line and stayed in your lane through till the end.
As you take the next stride forward, you begin to hear a person shouting at the top of his voice. It was directed to you.
“Come on! Sprint! You are reaching the end!”
Another one screamed, “A few more steps left! Go finish it!”
Then you hear the crowd started cheering on for you, echoing out your name synchronized together and orchestrated only with the rhythm formed by a group of people in the grandstand, following by another, and more and more joined till the entire stadium are in support of your last few meters to the end of the race!
You see a thin line right in front of you.
It gets bigger and bigger and the next thing you know it, you feel a soft silky smooth touch that you recognize so clearly: it is the finishing line.
The entire stadium stood up in one accord, and erupted to a thunderous sounds of applause and cheers to congratulate on your victory here!
You stand there with arms lifted high up and a smile on your face - you know that you have won this race, and enjoyed every moment not because of the end, but it is because you have already found the passion and joy in moving out with faith to produce great works with excellence in this wonderful journey.
Go on. The moment of glory is yours now. The next race would be up shortly, and you know this time that you are better equipped to run and finish it with excellence.
Have fun!
The secret of joy in work is contained in one word - excellence. To know how to do something well is to enjoy it. - Pearl S. Buck
