Here’s a good 3 + 1 tip to get a super kickstart in your morning - and get a rocking great day while your at it!

This post will touch more on how to rid off the mentality that that may say that the day is going to be “a mundane one”, “dull”, or “boring” even before you get into the first hour of it.

And yes, you will find out more on how you can “catapult” (literally) yourself right into the heat of action with a victorious attitude today right in this page too!

Tip #1: First things first. Open up your eyes!

Morning sucks. We know that. But… Start your day by getting your eyes opened first!

Finding your way “in the dark”

I am amazed by the ability of human beings to be able to maneuver in the dark our way to the snooze button on our various alarm devices that we set the night before prior to ringing off everyone else in the house (or the neighbors) but us at the times we set for ourselves.

The emphasis of the phrase “in the dark” does not refer to the environment or external factors that could have caused the lack of light in the place. It is referring to us (yes, I am a culprit of this too) who can find our way to the nearest alarm clock (or clocks) and find that snooze button regardless how big or small they are, all that while having our eyes closed.

Get all the 5 senses up and running before you get out of your bed!

There are times when instead of a systematic alarm set at a fixed time to get us up, we have our best buddies calling us up wondering if we are up and ready to go for the morning meeting, breakfast, or even to an important event.

And there will be those days that they happen to call us earlier than we expected, and we would be answering a call without being fully conscious of what was going on.

No surprise, the next few words we speak while answering the phone call may be gibberish but still effective for another few minutes of sleep as the other party over at the other side of the line knows you are still in sleeping-mode. Most likely we would not remember what we said and would pester our friends to let us in on the things we told them while still in subconscious state. And earned them a joke that can drag on till the end of the week!

It’ll be better to get all our 5 senses up and running, especially our sight, before we do anything. Be aware of our surroundings, and get ourselves in control first thing in the day.

Open up our eyes and look beyond the current state of our surroundings

Here’s a fantastic example of what how you can exercise your foresight and vision right at the very first hour in the morning.

Go to the mirror, look at the face you are staring at (yeps, that is you with the messy hair and all), and… shout, scream, or whatever. That is definitely us alright.

After that, stare at the “mirror you” in the eye and say to yourself that this is not going to be how you would look like for the day!

I believe in looking reality straight in the eye and denying it. - Garrison Keillor, US humorist & radio broadcaster

Then imagine the look and appearance you want to portray and add on to your confidence before you step out of your house (or before you exactly start working from home).

Do the same for the things around your house.

Look around your desk, floor, or anywhere where you can see clutter. Picture yourself standing in a room with zero mess, tidy, and clean. That could be your task for the day too!

Tip #2: Say good things and expect them to happen in your day!

Have you watched Evan Almighty yet? The one where the movie bears the message of changing the world by one single act of random kindness at a time.

There was this scene where Steve Carell’s character (before modern-Noah), Evan Baxter, stood infront of his mirror, and said a huge sentence of positive words to himself:

I am successful, handsome, powerful, and happy. - Evan Baxter, character from Evan Almighty

He sure became what he said as he got hold of one of the top position in government, though that happened in the film.

Say it out and attract the good stuffs into your day!

Law of attraction says that the thoughts and things you say out will attract the same things into your life.

The law of attraction is responding to your signals that you put out through your thoughts that you have activated at any point of time.

Whether you are observing, imagining or perceiving, something will manifest and the law of attraction will bring that into reality.

So, do that and don’t be surprised how fast things can start to happen and manifest in the next 24 hours! Like you can sit right on your bed and say “let’s have a great and fun day at work” and picture yourself doing a slightly different thing and approach in work that will increase productivity and speeds up or lightens the process of accomplishing a task that will make your day to be what you had wanted to be in the very first hour!

Say “Hey there gorgeous!” to your mirror image

I was looking for a good example to show in form of an image and found the one you see above at Tip#2. And I when you go onto the page where this image was taken from, you will smile at the sight of the title written in that page.

It goes “Sexy. Grrr”.

That shows a huge confidence in himself! Neat!

I recalled one morning when I got up and looked myself in the mirror with my fringe touching my eyebrows. It would be quite a hassle to put clay or hairstyling creme to keep it looking good for a huge 18 hours day.

I decided to do something about it and got hold of a pair of scissors and chopped off a huge length off my fringe and in less than 3 minutes, it looked way better!

And the best part was that the little change of hairstyle did work wonders! I received a number of praises on my countenance just because of the change I made. It sure does help even more when you smile and be happy about the new change that you got.

Smile cos’ you know that you are ready for the day!

The average, healthy, well-adjusted adult gets up at seven-thirty in the morning feeling just plain terrible. - Jean Kerr

Well, as represented in the quote shown before this paragraph, who wouldn’t feel terrible? Though this would happen when we focus on the many worries that might happen in the day.

Noticed I used the word “might”?

Sometimes we worry about details such as:

  • Deciding on what to have for breakfast
  • Wondering whether our favorite food stall would be closed for the day
  • Whether we have our pants done and suit pressed
  • Are we early to beat the traffic
  • Is the public transport going to be sardine packed
  • Are my nose hair trimmed
  • Do I look like a mess
  • What is my stress level going to be for the day
  • Am I fat
  • Am I thin
  • Did the latest post get 10,000 views
  • Any new subscribers for the day
  • Goals aren’t reached
  • Am I procrastinating by asking myself those

Apart from the rest of the points, the only one that would get a “yes” would be the last question.

Let’s not spend time worrying, but consolidate every every single dose of energy and re-adjusting and re-positioning them into a stronger focused based act of one firm and confident smile!

Say that you are going to have a great day

And you will end the day feeling fruitful and fantastic!

Tip #3: Pray up and worship God

I’m sure it is almost entirely difficult to do that while we happen to only be awake for a couple of minutes, getting our conscious level back up to being aware that it is already a new day.

However both prayer and worship being important things in life sure makes it easier for one to aligning our day on the right track.

Prayers

Praying is talking to God.

This explanation doesn’t get any simpler than that (until we can find a creative way to define praying in a short 4 word sentence).

Here’s a simple and effective step you can take to start praying.

The first and only step would be to draw every ounce of strength and energy into saying the word “Hi”. Or, “Good morning Lord”. It is definitely easier if you have managed to come up with a focused smile.

Then enter into a conversation with God. Telling Him how you expect the day to be like with Him around, and discuss and thinker with new ways on solving a problem that you are facing in work or in school.

When it starts with a “Hi”, end of with a “Bye”.

Let’s bring this up to another notch. Here’s what I’d do instead to end off the prayer time. I’d say “Let’s go Lord!” And move on in my day with confidence and expectation!

In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation. - Psalm 5:3, New International Version

Worship

This includes the act of having outstretched your hands.

The act of outstretched arms show that you have made your mind up and forgave the people who might have added to excess emotional baggage, and also on yourself for any possible hurts and any stress blocks you might have brought into other people’s life on the previous day.

Another way that the act of outstretch arms portray would be the encouragement for victory.

But Moses’ hands became heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. - Exodus 17:12, New King James Version

The surrounding content where that passage was taken from in the Bible told about how Moses’ army gained victory when his arms were on fully extended upwards, but the tide would change when his hands started slacking off.

I’d go for the fully extended arms for the win. You should adopt that same approach too!

Reading the Bible

Here’s a quick additional point that would be fitting for this part of the entry.

What I had did when I was a younger person in Christ, was to turn my Bible to any verse I selected for myself to read for a stretch of a few weeks, and I purposed myself to read Proverbs thoroughly, verse by verse (or chapter if the passage looks full from the few sentences there).

That means, I would be reading a short passage quickly out to myself, and remembering it, meditating upon the key elements of the verses while on my way out in the day.

You might never know who you would meet, and that verse would be of great encouragement to his or her day as you discerningly share out the powerful revelation that you had got earlier in the morning!

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise. - Proverbs 11:30, New King James Version

As an example, that verse above could be for you today! You can certainly apply that verse into your life by reminding yourself that you want to strengthen a friendship with someone you know back in the school days or build a colleague up who had been feeling down by bringing joy to his or her life!

Read up, pray up and worship God while getting yourself strengthened to be as solid and fruitful like the tree of life today. Be of great cheer, and win someone close to you in the remaining 24 hours of your day.

*Bonus* Tip #4: “Catapult” yourself into the thick of the action!

This is the part you have been waiting for! How you can literally catapult yourself into the thick of the action today right at the start the morning from your bed.

First, as you wake up from your bed, get yourself in a sitting position at the side of the bed.

While still in a daze, place both hands at the ledge.

Next, push yourself up and off the bed with your palms pressing against the ledge hard and shouting a joyful sound like “woohoo!”, as you fling yourself out and jump right onto the ground!

I was joking about the part where you make a joyful shout. But the pushing yourself off the bed is real. I tried that out this morning and it did help in getting me on both feet faster and get right into my day immediately.

That should keep you awake and charged up to do the rest of the stuffs as mentioned in this entry!

Now cheers and go have a great day ahead! You have less than 24 hours to make an impact in someone else’s life today.
