Ever wondered what this verse really means? I did not really understand it until today. This might be a very popular verse among the Christians, but those who are non Christians might have also heard of it. I will share with you today what this verse really means.
Your young men shall dream dreams
Friends, I believe that you are still young as you are reading this. This verse is especially for you. What does it mean to dream dreams? Many of us inspire to make it big by the time we hit 40 or some of us want to be some CEO of a big company. Yes, these are dreams and they are definitely achievable! Who says that dreams are limited to just the period when you sleep? When we dream dreams, we want to be someone, or do something that we think we can never be able to achieve. Yes my friends, dream big! Do not limit your dreams! Be focus on the things that you want to be and you will definitely be the person whom you have dreamt to be!
The power of dreams
Dreams are not just something that only exists when you are sleeping or when you are day dreaming, in fact, dreams have proven to be the driving success for a lot of successful businessmen and scientists who have contributed greatly to our society. Dreams are called dreams because they are achievable! Yes, they are. Dreaming to become a president was President Abraham Lincoln’s dream. Every dream that you have are achievable. Do not despise it! When you dream you are focusing on something that you want to achieve. You are telling yourself that this is what you want to do and what you want to be. Many businessmen whom I have known started their career with a dream. Some of them dreamt to earn their first one million dollars before they hit the age of 30. Many of them are successful. Bill Gates started his business by a simple yet powerful dream. He dreamt that there will at least be a computer in every family. He dream brought him to start one of the biggest companies in the world. Do you have a dream? Are you dreaming big? If you are, don’t stop yourself from carrying on that dream.
Why some dreams don’t come to pass
I know the questions that could be running in your mind. Many who dreamt big end up just living life just like a normal human being. I will not doubt the fact. It is true that many dreams and visions end up going to the graves. I was reading through the obituary column when I saw a 12 year old child on the page. She had big dreams and she would want it to come to pass, but she could not have that chance, because she was knocked down by a car. What would have happened if that girl was given a chance to live? What happened if her dreams of saving people from the third world really did come to pass? I was reading through her column and all I could think of was a dream that could have come to pass being buried into the grave. It is the same for each and every one of us. You all have world changing dreams and you can’t wait to see it come to pass. You tried to keep it to yourself such that you could wait for the right opportunity to see it come to pass. However, life is short and unpredictable. Why are you still waiting? Let your dreams come to pass.
How to let it come to pass
Dreams are fuelled by faith. Faith is not a very hard word. Faith is simply the power to believe. If you can see yourself having it, you will have it. Just to tell you a little bit about me. I am a dreamer. I love to dream, because every thing seems to be so beautiful when I dream. I once dreamt of being a scholar and studying in Germany. It used to be something that I could never be able to see myself into, because I was never really the very intelligent. As I started to believe that I am one of the scholars, my grades improved tremendously. Just to keep you updated, I will be applying for my scholarship by the end of this month!
Friends, your dreams might still be bottled up in that heart of yours. Let it out and believe that it will come to pass. Do whatever it takes to see the birth of it. Trust me. If you follow the things that I have written, your life will never be the same again. God bless you all!

Wonderful post. This reminds me of “Think and Grow Rich” timeless classic from Mr. Hill. He talks about the dreams + faith = Success. That is so true. Dreams without a faith die a horrible death.

@shilpan - Thanks for commenting! Yes, actually while i was writing this post, i remember asking children about who they want to be. It is amazing what they want to be when they grow up. Sadly, those dreams were drown away as the days goes by. haha and yes, dreams without faith really do die a horrible death.

Dude! I’ve read through this over and over again! It’s waayy inspiring man!
And I remembered even years before how you have told all of us that you have strong intentions of going into Germany. Look where you are at today! Living the dream right now in real-time!
“Faith is simply the power to believe.”
That I will keep in my heart and live it out. :)
Thanks for sharing this Mavarick!

It’s funny that as we become adults, we give up some of our childhood dreams. We are told to be practical and to pursue a conventional career path. Somewhere along the way, something must have happened!!??!!

Yes, it is a little sad to see our childhood dreams go down the drain. It is however possible to revive them:) they are after all not really buried into the ground. I have a dream of changing the world, and it has been my childhood dream to do something like that. I will see that dream come to pass:)

Wow! This is very inspiring. It feels as if you are telling in person to each of us to dream and believe in them.
@Evelyn: I saw Randy Pausch’s Last Lecture (Originally titled Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams) some months back. It made me jump out and make a list of my childhood dreams. It made me want to make true each of my dream. It touched and moved me completely. Do watch it. It’s a honour by itself.

@Avani-Mehta - That’s right! We sure have to dream and believe in them! I had also watched that video after reading a blog post by Hunter (http://hunternuttall.com/blog/2008/06/im-in-the-last-lecture-page-184/) and found how the lecturer had driven the point greatly in that talk!

Hi mav,
What a great post to share! I still remember years back when we were classmates, we were talking about what we want to achieve in the future. Woots! Your dream of studying in Germany came to pass. If we dare to pursue in what we believe in faith, God will bring us to our destiny.
Let us dare to dream and act out in faith!

Yea.. haha!! i still remember those days. THose humble beginnings, writing german all over the whiteboard, trying to impress the girls in our class:P …Anyway, I was actually immediately brought to your point about being daring to pursue in what we believe.
I remember pastor always talking about “We set our targets, and God will direct our paths”. It is so true because its only people with dreams and visions are proven to be more successful than people without them. Having dreams and visions doesnt mean that one doesnt fail, but doing all it takes to reach that goal of his/her. :)
