Ever had friends coming up to you and asked this question “would you mind praying for me?”
When I get a prayer request, I would only agree when I am sure and confident that I would pray through on their behalf.
One of the best ways to following up on your response into praying for someone is to pray for him / her immediately upon saying yes. This is my own practice. There are some other good ways to actually follow up on a prayer request like:
